What To Do On Your Buenos Aires Vacation

In the beautiful city of Buenos Aires, Argentina, the nightlife and restaurants flourish. Tourists from all over the world mingle with natives enjoying themselves on a night out, and there is much to do. Here are a few suggestions on what to do in Buenos Aires:

1. Sample the exotic cuisine. Many different meats are eaten in this part of the world, and exploring a new culture means challenging yourself to try things you wouldn’t eat back home. The dulce de leche makes a wonderful traditional dessert.

2. Enjoy a night on the town. Milongas (Tango Nights) are clubs with a traditional Argentinean atmosphere where men and women seated on different sides of the club communicate non-verbally to indicate their desire to dance. Several clubs offer chances for novices to try their hand at the tradition.

3. Wake up in the morning and go to a traditional cafe. Enjoy a cup of local coffee and an Argentinean croissant. The best food and atmosphere can be found at places a little off the beaten path, where most tourists don’t venture.

4. Take a spin around the world’s first religious theme park. Every half an hour a plastic Jesus rises out of the ground at Tierra Santa. Afterward, have a picnic in one of the local reserves, where the native wildlife includes colorful birds and iguanas.

5. Take a forty-minute trip away from the big city and tour the eye of the Tigre. This unspoiled rainforest is unbelievably close to downtown, yet completely wild. Hop on a riverboat for the best tour.

After you’ve finished your whirlwind tour of the city, it’s time to step back and relax for the latter part of your vacation. Enjoy relic hunting, great dining and bar hopping, watching a polo match, or another Argentinian delight. Pick up a travel guide for the latest ideas on where to enjoy the local culture and fun.
