Yes, it’s true- the lean, defined abs are probably one of the most coveted, if not the MOST desired body part to have! In fact, my hubby, the 46 year old Robert Murgatroyd has made his abs into his business! Dropping 40 lbs and becoming a male fitness model at 45 was no easy feat! But what about his health?
Well, the proof is in the…blood! Yep, that’s right. Mr. Murgatroyd gave up a few vials of blood two weeks ago to see how his body was doing on the inside. Here’s his actual test results, vital stats and everything you need to know about the health of my super-fit hubby- from the inside out!
Above: Check out that HDL! According to the American Heart Association with HDL (good) cholesterol, higher levels are better. Low HDL cholesterol (less than 40 mg/dL for men, less than 50 mg/dL for women) puts you at higher risk for heart disease. In the average man, HDL cholesterol levels range from 40 to 50 mg/dL. An HDL cholesterol of 60 mg/dL or higher gives some protection against heart disease. The mean level of HDL cholesterol for American adults age 20 and older is 54.3 mg/dL.
Fun Fact: Rob’s got 10 mg/dL higher than the average 20 year old!!!!! More than half his age!
Below: Note the Protein score. Some studies suggest that high, sustained protein intake will result in kidney failure. Although many “diet plans” focus on super-high protein consumption, obviously, Jet Set Body’s recommendations regarding protein are perfectly healthy!
