No Time To Work Out? Try These 3 Things.
Let’s be honest. We all have the same 24 hours in a day – right? But, how we use these 24 hours is an entirely different story. I am no time management guru. In fact, it could totally be argued that I’m a big time waster. What I have figured out is how to make sure that what’s most important to me gets done.
In order to take care of my highest priorities, like working out, I had to identify all the things that I was doing that was filling my time. What I found was I had a bunch of activities that could be completely eliminated or at a minimum reduced.
Tomorrow, right down every task you do from the time you wake up until the time you go to sleep. Then, circle everything that you would classify as a “crutch activity”. Crutch activities are those activities that you do to distract yourself. An example would be checking Facebook, E-mail or going in to the kitchen rummaging for food.
Then do this:
One by one eliminate these crutch activities and free up more time.
Finally try this (what I do)
1. Go to bed 1 hour earlier and wake up 1 hour earlier.
2. Wake up and immediately workout (do not touch your computer).
3. Keep your cell phone off until after you’ve completed your workout.
While this is by no means a perfect science and certainly isn’t going to work for everyone. It’s a nice simple easy breezy way to free up some time. Heck, it works for me 🙂
