In the past few years, Greece has been gaining popularity as a great honeymoon destination. There are islands spread out on the Aegean and Ionian Sea that are idyllic spots to spend a honeymoon in. Islands that offer a great backdrop for romantic honeymoons include Rhodes, Crete and Athens. The view of whitewashed houses against clear blue skies provides a very romantic setting for a honeymoon vacation. Greece also offers a variety of accommodations depending on taste and need. There are classic or luxurious options for couples. Honeymooners can also opt to go on cruise trips or to stay in private villas. There are also many activities aside from swimming, like sailing and snorkeling.

I once heard from someone that you can never finish exploring all the Greek islands in one’s lifetime because there are just too many out there. Well to me every Greek island is probably worth the visit, but since it is impossible to cover them all and truly appreciate the beauty, I chose my top 5 (in no particular order).
