Going VIP with the Best of Mykonos

It’s not secret that our favorite island to chill on in the summer is the white-washed island of Mykonos. Honestly, the richest Greek on the island is the one who sells that white paint! But, I digress.  Rob and I have spent countless hours basking in the Mykonian sunshine, exploring the island from end to end and meeting just about every local on the island.

We’ve developed a Mykonos a circle of friends in Mykonos that feel more like family. We have a daily routine starting with a delicious Greek yogurt breakfast poolside at the Andronikos Hotel while we chat about which beach is best that day based on the wind, sun, where we want to eat lunch and if we have a hangover from the night before. Then we jet off to one of the many lesser known beaches, as it’s not all about parties and Super Paradise, although we do love it there too. During our afternoon in the sun we listen to audio books, talk about life, our business, our passions and our future over a chill glass of rosé or sangria. We eat a light lunch of salads, grilled octopus and hummus. Once the sun starts to get too intense, we pack up and head back to the hotel for a nap before sunset. The next decision is of course, where to watch the sunset from. In Mykonos, the sunset is magical and captivates the entire island. There are many options, but our favorites remain the balcony at Katerina’s Bar in Little Venice, the Skybar at the Andronikos Hotel and for a very lively sunset, it’s the straight-friendly Sunset Cabaret show at the Elysium Hotel. Then it’s off to dinner, so many choices, but Nice n’ Easy definitely tops our list of favorites. Rounding out the perfect day, is where to party at night. Should be chill to the house beats at Queen in the town center or should we rest up for a world class DJ at Cavo Paradiso.
